The Windows defrag utility stops without finishing my HDD. I recall that Windows just licensed a lite version of software tool by another software company which is a much more effective defragmenter.

Can anyone point me to a good defrag software tool?

Diskeeper Lite is what windows uses. The full version is good.

<A HREF="http://www.goldenbow.com" target="_new">VoptXP 30 day free trial</A>

VoptXP has a clean restart feature under the Tools header, and it will defrag your machine no matter what Windows has to say about it, I've used VoptXP for 3 years now its one of the best software programs I've ever paid for.
