toshiba 4270 -will 40gb hd fit?

My friend wants to buy 40gb 9.5 mm hd to toshiba satellitepro 4270 (celeron500) and there's no f.. way to find anything helpful on their f.. up website
Will this hd work with it? will all space be recongnized?
Any experience with upgrading hd in laptops of that era?

It will most likely work. Older laptops had a lot of room in them :)
You will probably have fun installing it unless that laptop happens to have the hd in a quickly removable tray. It "might" be new enough to have that feature.
