Well guys i thought of buying a new graph card but im a teen and dont make much money. So i got this old pc. Here are my specs: AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400+ (2 proccesors 2.31 ghz each)
nvidia 7300gt 256mb

So i wonder how would oblivion work on my pc on 1440x900 resolution. I need that resolution because my monitor is 19 inches. So which settings are best for my pc?

Well, from the looks of it, you should be able to run it, but I'm sad to say that it'll probably only run at the lowest graphics settings, especially at that resolution. That's okay though, the game still looks pretty even at the lowest settings possible.

Also, getting a new graphics card isn't going to do you much good. Your CPU will prevent it from running at its best. My suggestion would be to get an entirely new computer. PC Gamer has a running parts list for low-,mid-, and high-end machines that is updated each month. The low-end usually runs about $500, and is quite fast for the price. Hey, if you work hard enough, you'll reach that $500 in no time.

Minimum System Requirements:

Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows XP 64-bit
512MB System RAM
2 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
128MB Direct3D compatible video card

Well ty for your reply! I tried playing it on mixed medium/low settings and it worked fine... I'll try to get a new pc to play some newer games. Thanks again.

Yeah i thought of buying an hd 4670 but my psu isnt good enough... Though idk how to see which connector it has and how many amps it has...

Oh btw can a nvidia 9800gt work on it because i find it at a bit lower price than the hd 4670?

I would go with the 9800gt, but there will be issues with your psu, as the 9800 demands more power then a 4670.

Well both require a 400w power supply as the minimum.
Get a decent psu that doesn't cost alot?

I am currently playing Oblivion on max settings, you can compare my rig to yours.

AMD 9950 X4 @2.6
2 gig RAM
7800 GT Graphics card
Win 7 Ultimate

I have an old 17" monitor and my resolution is @ 1024X768

The game runs great for me. If money is tight look on craigslist or ebay. The 7800 GT goes for less than $50, but if you can get the 9800 GT go with that one.
