Hey I just bought a new Acer Aspire 5553G with the specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 Mobile Processor N930 ( 2 GHz )
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 Up to 3711MB HyperMemory
6GB DDR3 Memory

I bought it mainly for school use, and to play some old games like CS / WC3. When I play WC3, I get FPS drops when there is a lot of actions. I play on 1366x768 Widescreen, with WC3 settings on max. I tried everything, to turn the graphic settings to lowest and WC3 settings to lowest, but it really don't help that much.
Does anyone knows what the case might be? Or is it just because my laptop is bad?
Thanks for the answers!

General tip: if your game is dropping FPS and lowering the graphics from top to lowest doesn't change anything...then CPU might be the issue. Looking at your specs, CPU is your bottleneck here.

Ironically, if you played newer games (that can make use of your quad) your FPS drops wouldn't be so bad. Old games on the other hand will favor high Mhz to multi cores.

Make sense?

Cheers,

Clarification: newer games might not run as well because of your GPU.
