KV8-MAX3 SATA HD Detection Problem

I've been trying to install windows xp 64 on this motherboard for a while, but i cannot get it to detect any of the hard drives in the bios. I'd like to have it set up with a 74GB raptor as the C: and a 250GB as the D:, but i cannot get either to show up regardless of which ATA controller i place them on. I'd like to know if anyone else has run across this or knows if there's anything i can do to fix it.

As far as i can tell it is. I've tried every various combination of bios settings i could think of to try and eliminate any possible problems with the bios settings, and so far, i'm still getting nothing. One thing i'm trying right now is running the diagnostic tools from WD and Maxtor for each of the drives to see if that fixes anything. The wierd thing is that the Maxtor tools found both drives and correctly identified if they were master, slave, etc.
