How do you disable Onboard SOund on an ASUS A7N8XE

I have ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe, and Would like to know how to disable onboard sound so I can install my new Sound Blaster Audigy 2Zs

Have you checked your manual? Checked settings in BIOS?.....anything?

So what steps should I do?

1. Go into Bios, Turn off Onboard sound
2. Shut down computer, pop in Sound Card
3. Install drivers
4. Ready to go

that would be it?

i would think that is all, on some old mobo i belive a jumper set is required but i don't think that urz is old

You disable it in the CMOS setup;

Start up the computer holding down the Delete Key

CMOS setup screen comes up

Navigate the tabs at the top with the left and right arrow keys

Select the Advanced Tab

Navigate up and down with the arrow keys

Select Integrated Peripherals [Enter]

Select Onboard AC97 Audio Controller [Enter]

Select Disable [Enter]

Press Esc Key twice

Save to CMOS and Exit = Y [Enter]



Thats it!
