I have Norton Ghost Standard and Corporate. I am doing pc work on the side. I want to know if I can use Ghost to backup files from my customer's computer. I am under the impression since I have installed Ghost on my pc thats the only computer I can utilize Ghost. I have a feeling I can use the network part of it and maybe run a backup of other people's computer as long as I can link my computer to theirs by networking. Is this true?
As long as you are on their network and you have a bootdisk that will work on the computer you can take an image of it with ghost corp. Make sure you have the latest version though, anything before 8 won't break up large images into separate files. Backups are usually larger than any one file can be in windows file systems, 8 and higher will break it into multiple files.
