Some months ago I built a system just to find it partly dead when I tried to start it up (there were no video and no beeps). It just didn't boot even though all fans, drives etc. were working.
In the end the shop where I bought it found a problem with the mobo (ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe), but didn't tell me what it was and i forgot to ask.
Therefore I am curios what kind of tests (and potential problems) can occur before the video adapter is initialized on the mentioned mobo?
I have not been able to find any info about the tests that are carried out before video initialization on ASUS web page.
Not totaly sure but I would think that the first thing initiated is the bios, then the cpu then video or memory. The reason is that without a video card you will still get beeps, same with no memory. With no cpu you will get beeps.
Just an educated guess. Anybody else?
