Hello,

I have this mobo, The Intel® Server Board SE7520BD2

it has the following PCI slots

Six total slots6: one PCI Express x8, one PCI Express x4 (physical connector is a x8 slot), one PCI-X 133MHz, two PCI-X 100MHz, one PCI 32-bit/33MHz 5V

I want a gaming cable graphics card for this mobo. any recomendations???

i have seen this card, but i dont think it has enough horsepower for gaming

it only has 32mb graphics

If all you have is the mobo, then you might be better getting a mid-range A64. You may even spend less money for a better gamer...

You could setup up a game server with that mobo. :wink:

Or Ebay it to help finance the new system...

ok, to clarify, this is my new mobo, im a citrix/vmware engineer. I need this mobo, its decked out, 2 scsi ultra 320 hds, 1 x sata HD, 3gb DDR ECC Kingston ram. 2 x 3ghz 2mb cache zeon cpus.

I use this server for testing stuff at home in the citrix/vmware arena.

but like everyone else, i want to play some games!
this server cost me a packet. i dont want to have to buy another system!

what are my options?? surely other people play games on server mobos???? i cant be the only 1 in this situation???????

does anyone know if this will work for my mobo

You have a full server and don't want to buy another rig. I don't know of a good solution for your gaming itch. GreatGrapeApe in the Graphics Card forum may have a solution for you...

I am considering picking up this model motherboard (intel SE7520BD2), and having to spend an extra $30 to $50 for a PCI-E 16X to 8X adapter is really make or break going ahead with the purchase.

I saw this mod walkthrough for a Dell SC420 server, where the guy makes the dell motherboard able to accept an x16 video card by cutting out the dividers

Now, looking at the PCI-E connector on the intel board (go to page 3 of the pdf

It seems to be a full length connector, with a second divider about 2/3 along the length. If this 2nd divider was cut out, would an x16 video card fit here and work? Anybody done this? Thoughts?
