Of the retailers I've been looking at getting a system from, the best priced one I've found so far has been $200 cheaper than anyone else. However, one problem that they have is that they don't advertise selling the Premium board. I'm going to ask them if they do have them or not, but I'm just wondering how much people think the feature differences between the two are worth?
Our opinions aren't the best wya to make this decision. If the Deluxe has the features that you will use and for a lesser price than the premium, then get it. If only the premium has all of the features that you will use, then you need to get that board. When I say use, I mean use - be realistic when you look at the features and make your purchase assessment. If you get a board because it has all the whiz-bang features, but you could have gotten everything you need for a lot less, then you wasted money on unused features.

Oh I totally agree with you there. The reason that I ask for opinions is not to have peopel make my decision for me, but to bring up areas that I have yet to consider.
Sales guy got back to me however, and told me that the Premium board isn't shipping in Canada yet, and expects availability in mid August. Wonder why they're taking so much longer as the other two retailers I've talked with could have the systems ready for me next week
Why? If I do start to over clock, I won't be doing much, just takign the FSB up to 433, or 466 max. Only a couple retailers I've found here have the DFI board, and it runs about $20 more. Plus, the place where I'm getting the whole system is $200 cheaper then anywhere else, and they don't carry DFI's period.
Asus has all the features I want, including the soft SLI switch so that when I dual-boot in Linux I don't have to also tear the system apart. And I can live with saving $200 over getting 1 extra fps in Farcry.
Now, if someone can give me something more than just an "Asus sucks, DFI better" arguement, I might reconsider. I do like exploring other ideas, but your explinations as to why I should change my plans have been as productive throwing rocks in a lake: Makes a splash, but sinks to the bottom right away.
So, where does this leave us in the SLI roundup? At stock speeds, there is no clear winner or loser with the four boards in the roundup. All four of them perform very well at stock speeds in both normal and SLI mode and you should choose your board based on features. However, if we move just a step to overclocking, two boards stand head and shoulders above the rest. Nothing comes close to the DFI nF4 SLI-DR and the MSI K8N Neo4/SLI.
