Dirt 2; Can't win a Race

Hi , Why can't I win a race in Dirt 2?
I'm up to 30 seconds slower than other users.
I'm using a Logitech Extreme 3D PRO Joystick.

Here's my specs;
Windows 7 Ultimate 64- bit
Intel Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8GHz LGA 1366
ASUS P6X58D-E
A-DATA Gaming Series 6GB
HIS Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5

More about dirt race
  1. Settings and fps don't mean squat when you are slower then the other racers.
  2. Very true, so what's the solution?

    Drive better then everyone else.

I've done enough 'practising' I've got over 200 points, in multi-player, and I've done the Dirt Tour 3 times.
    And I can't beat a noob.
    It's very frustrating.
  5. i played it and i normally end up in 2nd -4th ish place
try using your handbrake going around sharp corners
  6. Last racing game I played, before Dirt 2, was Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit from the late '90s. And because of the odd controlling with a keyboard (use to have a steering wheel and pedal setup) I ended up setting the difficulty to Easy. I don't think you'll be able to make as much money or get as money points, but at least you can play new tracks once you beat the old ones, and buy a few new cars. Have you messed with the difficulty settings?
  7. From experience.... if you don't have a wheel you can't drive to your potential.
  8. Don't break. You rarely actually have to break. Its more about the line that you take and when you start the turn.
  9. Please mark as solved
