Why does my gateway laptop have to be booted several times before it reconizes h

Hello,
when i turn on my gateway t-1625 it says no operating system found. i have to repeat booting about 7 times before it recognizes

Go into the BIOS and ensure that the hard drive with the OS on it is listed as #2 in the boot order behind the CD/DVD rom.
