More about best list have
1. If you have the money to burn and the brains to overclock then go with the DFI NF4 Ultra D. If you dont have the money then go with a lower CPU like 3800, etc and get the DFI NF4 Ultra D.
If you have heart set on the 4000+ then the DFI board you listed.

This is opinion only not fact.

Compaq S5000nx
yes the one with an asus mobo and non exsistant apg slot. It was free so dont yell at me LOL.
2. That's a main problem for me. I do NOT have the brains to overclock. Well I do have the brains but I never learned. :( once i get the cpu and MB i will post and learn how to do it. If the stuff I listed is all in the price range I can afford why would u tell me to get a 3800 and the MB i listed when I can afford to get the 4k+ and the MB i listed?
3. What will the system be used for? If I remember from some of your other posts it will be for gaming. If gaming, then
the Epox 9NPA+ Ultra for ~$108 and then whatever CPU you can afford with the rest.

4. Nice board, I dont have a pci-e vid card. have an agp 8x gforce 6800 ultra. if i had alot of money i would have SLI ^^ but i really dont need it atm
5. Any AMD64 chip can overclock dont skimp on a mobo if you plan on overclocking (something I've learned since my original thread). So go with E-pox or DFI and get a lower proc if needed, you'll enjoy it later.

6. But i can get the DFI and the 4k+ i dont need to skimp i never mentioned skimping.
7. A google of the board you listed : DFI - nF4-DAGF
appears not to be the ultra version.

10. Oh come on wusy I thought you would be one that said get a DFI NF4 Ultra D and clock a 3800 or 3500 to a 4000.

EDIT : And where is Masterbater he likes to debate.
(LOL sorry I couldnt hold it any longer)

11. I believe he said he'd like to overclock at a later date. Am I wrong that DFI NF4 Ultra D wont serve him well till he overclocks?
EDIT : Thanks for telling me how to make clicky. Sorry if I agrevate you I'm just trying to learn.

12. No offence wusy but as to him OC'ing

he said
"I do NOT have the brains to overclock. Well I do have the brains but I never learned. :( once i get the cpu and MB i will post and learn how to do it."

AND

He never said what type of ram he had.

EDIT: And he wants a board that takes an AMD 64 4000+ with AGP (thats over my head).

I have a gforce 6800 ultra and its agp 8x what do you expect me to do?
15. I think im going to go with the DFI LANPARTY UT nF3 ULTRA-D Motherboard and the 4k+ its a very nice board. Whats so wrong with an agp video card with the 4k+?
16. Damn... no one was smart enough to see that he has an AGP video card he wanted to keep, and everybody keep recommending a PCIe motherboard.. until the last few post where he point it again....

I'm dissapointed at you, so I dont know if I will forgive you about recommending a MSI...

17. I'll buy the EPoX 9NDA3+ right now if you ok it and think its the best option for my new rig (i am planning to overclock) im setting up, its going to be the 4000+ my 6800 ultra 8x agp, 80 gig WD sata hd, 2 gig 1st gen 1st gen samsung, dvdrw. If thats the best mb for my setup at around the reasonable price that it is which is like 98.00 ill buy it now plz lemme know i want to buy good items ^^
18. okay, if you want a good performing cpu/mobo combo and still keeping your 6800ultra would look somethign like this:

-3700sd (easily OC to 4000 speeds even on stock cooling)
-wait for that one weird ULI mobo that has agp and pcie... ask GGA for more info... lol
-patriot xblk 1gb

thats cheap and high performance for ya ;D

(actually, not sure on the price of the ULI mobo)

gforce mx100/200 @ 230/440 =]
19. psssh who upgrades that late? well, besides me... but, usually ppl upgrade cuz they can't run things at max settings anymore ;D. graphics cards refreash very quickly, so he might want pci-e to keep up with the game and not have to wait like 5 monhts for a company to release a agp version.

gforce mx100/200 @ 230/440 =]
20. If you're going to overclock you won't get any higher with 4000+ than if you get 3700+(San Diego).

The 4000+ is 1mb L2 cache, while the 3700 is 512. Isn't that a big difference?
21. the first statement is true... you probably won't get any higher if you buy a 4000. however, both of them have 1mb cache, which scales better when you OC rather than a 512kb. the performance isn't that much different between 1mb and 512kb. so the sweetspot for OC is 3700.

gforce mx100/200 @ 230/440 =]
22. Ok if that is true im going to buy the 3700+ san diago. Which mb will be best for it for overclocking remmeber i need agp 8x
23. ok i ordered the board u suggested on newegg for 98.00. ordering the 3700+ today sometime once i get it in ill go to work overclocking ^^ thanks man for all ur help
24. Motherboard cost: 90$
Up to date video card cost: 500$

IMHO, he is better to keep the 6800 he has, get a 90$ motherboard and a 3700+ and have fun for 2 years, then, upgrade to the latest video card, get another motherboard and a new CPU if necessary.. so he could sell his old setup to cover for the new one..

See, the old mobo+ the 6800 could probably make for more than the new motherboard...
