do i need a NIC or ethernet card?

will my DFI lanparty UT nF4 ultra-D come with a build in one??? currently i'm using shaw cable and a SMZ EZ Card 10/100 PCI and i was wondering if i still need that card when i upgrade or just plug the cable into the LAN things on the mobo i asked because that my current card is having some connection problems (you need to stuff the bottom of the port with some paper or else it won't connect) or should i get one like this thing

or something like this?

thanks a bunch

  20. I assure you that setting up the router through this rig using any kind of extra NIC cards is going to be much more painful than it is worth.

The NIC card costs you $10-15. A 5 way router will cost you less than $30 and is absolutely no hassel. I know what I would be buying.
  21. meh i'm here for the technical aspect we already got a 5 way router lol
  22. ROFL me too!
Already setup RRAS part of Windows 2k server, and its not that hard but I assure you plugging four wires is somewhat easier!

Plus if you have to reboot your computer, guess what no internet for the whole family!

    Asus P4P800DX, P4C 2.6ghz@3.25ghz, 2X512 OCZ PC4000 3-4-4-8, MSI 6800Ultra stock, 2X30gig Raid0
  23. You guys kill me...
  24. lol y starfishy? i'll probelly just gona hook my PIII up to it or any other savaeable computer to it and when its up all they will be up (unless they r in diff room then i don;t want to do all the wireing....) and set the feature wake on lan to enabled :P
