This wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentium_D) seems to claim that some 915 based motherboards will work with the Pentium D. Does anyone know of such motherboard?

if so, does "work" mean, only as a single core in those cases?

thanks

Anything before the 955 isnt supposed to work with dual core. Even if it did, it wouldnt make much sense to not use a board with the 955 chipset. The ASUS boards are currently the best.

ASUS P5WD2 Premium
Intel 3.73 EE @ 5.6Ghz
XMS2 DDR2 @ 1180Mhz

I don't particularly "want" one of those boards, I'm just a bit intrigued. I didn't pay attention and ordered a 915 and a the 820 from newegg (got that cancelled) and realized the mistake after glancing at the wikipedia article (smacked head against wall). The wikipedia article just made me wonder, and my google-foo failed to come up with anything, so I figured I'd ask here as some people might know.

The best board for that CPU is the ASUS PW5D2 Premium. DFI is getting ready to release one that may turn out to trump the ASUS board but that is yet to be seen.
