i now declare the signups for our counter-strike clan open! grassapa and I are currently forming a toms hardware guide comunity clan, if any one is interested please contact me or grassapa. currently we are 3 strong, me grassapa and flamethrower. we are exploring the possibilities for a hosted server.

I have a clan and a server IP is 142.165.236.24:27016. I wouldn’t dirty myself with being a THG clan member.

your lucky im not a malicious person, your computer is full of holes! your behind so many sprint routers its not even funny! i try to ping you and half of them just time out. in case any one is wondering, he is running iis with ftp enabled, his computer does respond to telnet.

Ahh you are correct I am on the Sasktel domain. I’m behind a Linksys router with ports 21 80 27016 5900 open. FTP enabled. And oh look you left me a present my security sucks. Well ill be, [-peep-] happens right? You can tell the whole world since I log all the ips and ports making access to my system. So you up for some cs, hehe?

you play quake 3? i think of that game as a bench mark utility only, sure it looks pretty and all, but its just not that much fun.

Well I could join... I own Half-Life and CS so that wouldn't be an problem... the only things is that I never played CS before (mainly SOF2, UT and a little Q3TA). And ofcourse I will need to download the latest patches... just give me some time and I have faster internet so I can join.

My peltier is so powerful I get Bose-Einstein Condensate beneath it :eek: .

Hmm, maybe one weekend when I'm more free, I can host a server and u can play me (I got dsl though, so max of like 3 other people).

Does running a server takes so much bandwith? I ran a server on my LAN but that is different ofcourse with running a server on the internet.
And how fast does your PC need to be to run a good server?

Per person its like 1.5 to 1.6 kps for counterstrike. Very little bandwith required. Hey we are playing this monday ill post to let people know. Hehe i like school'n people.

a good way to learn is to watch others in the first person view, pay attention to how they move. to learn the weapons i started my own private server so i could play by myself, i experimented with all the weapons. the accuracy of them all when moving, and how long i had to stay still before the accuracy goes back up. dont become dependant on the awp (sniper rifle) many people dont like when people use them only, many servers even ban them.

the game is strictly multiplayer, if you play by yourself there will be no one there! you can install bots to play against but they are very stupid.

Too bad... bots can be good for some practice. Well that will result in some 1 vs 1 shooting then.
