Red Faction Guerrilla

Hey Guys..
Hey guys, just bought the game "Red Faction: Guerrilla".. from D2D and downloaded and installed it, Then applied both patches... the mouse Locks up on menu sometimes and it takes like 4.5 minutes-5minutes for it to load level to level.. However once i am in the game it plays really "ok"..Not great.. little lag .. a couple of Frames are dropped, But nothing bad..

Here are my specs

Windows 7 Premium 32 Bit
Nvidia gforce 8600 gts (8.17.12.5896)

2 gigs ram

I am using dx 11..
Here is my dx Report.

I am just really tring to find out why it is taking like so dern long to load from Level to level.I posted it in the RF G Forum on thier main site..and they appear to keep blaming everyones problems on a "GFWL system."..I have no clue what that is.. i thought it was something hat MS had made.. I am getting ready to google it now.. But does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

  1. I'm not an expert but I think between Win 7 and only having 2 gig ram that's your bottleneck right there.

    A 32bit OS is not "bottlenecked" by only having 2GB of RAM. :pfff:
  3. I wasn't talking about the OS being bottlenecked on the 2 gig of RAM, I know for 32 bit OS's the bottleneck is just under 4 gig.

    What I meant was that with 2 gig RAM running Win 7 there is a chunk of memory used there and that is probably where he is getting the 5 minute load times.

    Apologies if I did not word it clearly and or correctly..actually after re-reading it looks like I was thinking faster than I was typing.

    after thinking about it further I imagine his processor is not doing any favors to the load times either.
  4. SO what are yall suggesting?
  5. Sorry, got off topic a little.

    I checked minimum specs for the game...

    Minimum:

    * OS: Windows XP
    / Vista
    * CPU: 2.0 GHz Dual-Core Processor (Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2)
    * Memory: 1 GB RAM / 15 GB of Hard Drive space
    * Video Card: 128 MB 3D Video Card w/Shader Model 3.0 Support (Nvidia GeForce 7600/ATI Radeon X1300)

    Recommended:

    * OS: Windows Vista® for DirectX® 10
    * CPU: 3.2 GHz Dual-Core Processor
    (Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2)
    * Memory: 2 GB RAM / 15 GB of Hard Drive space
    * Video Card: 256 MB 3D Video Card w/Shader Model 3.0 Support (Nvidia GeForce 8800/ATI Radeon HD3850)

    Looks like your CPU is where you are lagging behind.

    Besides upgrading you can try lowing visual settings a little from where your at now and trying to upgrade all of your drivers to current versions.
  6. Jamus:

    Thanks for the Reply.. I dont have the aucutal Box.. SO i really never looked at/for the specs. I am assuming that your right, I should upgrade my Processor and Vid card..Thanks for the Help.. all i need now is to save the money to do it..lol

    BTW: What is the "GFWL system"? :whistle:

    As far as lowering the settings.. I do have it windowed and have the lowest settings possible.
