Yes, i'm probrably going to get ripped on this for being an incredible noob. I do have the sense to know that ATI cards WILL work for nForce boards.

I am on the verge of getting a DFI LANparty Ultra-D motherboard and a ATI Radeon X800 (XT/XL/XT-PE, havent decided)

However, since the LANPARTY board uses a nForce 4 chipset, and thus is kind of an nVidia board, i was wondering if its performance on ATI cards will be reduced in some way?

Common sense tells me it probrably wont, even if ATI and nVidia are competitors, because this would simply not be a good marketing decision for nVidia to use, but i just want some confirmation.

Thanks in advance

Absolutely correct. It is a real noob question, and nvidia just isn't that dumb.
9800p on nf3 & 9600p on nf3
The thing to watch on nf4, is that the xl is such a great price/performance deal.

and at the end the radeon whopped nforce4's ass because it didn't have a mem controller =]
