Hey people,

Long time listener, first time caller.... or something.

Anyhows, Im no big time pro at PC building but have made a fair few for different friends and family but now its time to upgrade from my P3 450mhz (don't laugh its the most stable PC i've ever used) so I need the best bits i can for my money.

I've decided on getting a AMD 64 XP3200+ and just want a solid mobo, reasonably priced yadda yadda yadda. I keep looking at reviews and stuff and i just can't decided or get my head round half the terms used. I reallly just want one final answer of THE best board as i'm too indecisive to decide for myself.

PC will be used for the usual stuff, few games, photoshop, MP3's, office, lots of porn, etc... I will get a decent graphics card but maybe not straight away,

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chaintech VNF4 Ultra. You can read my review at SysOpt and see why I think it's the best board you can get for the money.

I thought I might have to change Graphics cards but thats cool.

I can't find this VNF4 Ultra mobo in any UK shops so maybe there not sold here.

Budget wise, well I'm willing to spend a fair amount if it will get me a far better Motherboard than the lower priced ones.

say if you looked at this page :http://www.savastore.com/products/components/motherboards/socket-939/

which would you choose?

any help would be much appreciated as im always considering just clicking on any of them and buying it.

Is the list that bad? I only use them as I know there a good supplier. Had a little look at the over clockers.

Is this selection alot better?: <A HREF="http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_AMD_Motherboards_68.html" target="_new">http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_AMD_Motherboards_68.html</A>

And again thanks for the help.

I might just go with the K8N Neo4 Platinum as I've heard good things about it and am not too familiar with the ones you said although the ABit one does interest me, mainly as its meant to be super quiet.

Do Mobos vary that much?

I think by the time i decide on the components this pc will be out of date.

but i cant wait to play Half Life2
