Win 98/Me Compatability

I want to connect a PCI board ( specifically a 3Com NIC ) to my Win 98 SE PC . If the product specs say that it supports Win ME , does this mean that it will automatically support Win 98 SE ?

Most ME drivers work in 98SE. But most 3Com cards are already supported by built-in drivers for both 98SE and ME.
