Hello, im currently in the process of upgrading my system to play the latest games like Medal of Honor and maybe the upcoming Black Ops.
Useful Specs:
ATI Radeon 5750 2GB
2GB DDR2 RAM
Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2140 @ 1.60GHz

Im upgrading my CPU to a Quad-Core 3.0GHz within the next week.

And finally my question is. Will i be able to play the latest games on high(Not Ultra,Extra High,Maximum) settings, just enough for gameplay to be smooth and enjoyable?

Which model CPU are you upgrading to exactly?

Another 2GB of RAM certainly won't hurt. Apart from that you should be fine. You'll need to be conservative with the graphics since the 5750 is not the most powerful card out there, but at least it has plenty of memory.

You will have a decent high setting on MOH, I've played that game on my old core2duo 2.4ghz, 6gb ram, GTS 250 1gb and I can barely play well just on medium at 1360 x 768 res to get a good fraps. I'm using Win 7 64bit. Seems these days a quad core is a must have on your rig.

Im going to upgrade to a AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor ADX640WFGMBOX
( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... )

which is going into a GIGABYTE GA-MA74GM-S2 (Rev2.0) Motherboard.

I don't have enough money to upgrade to 4GB DDR2 memory at this time but in the near future, thats my next buy.

Appreciate the responses by the way.

DOnt go for x4 640 mate...go for a x4 955 be..and if u have a little extra budget go for a zalman heatsink as well..its great for gaming..getting 33 fps at max res and max settings with a gts 250 1gb card...

Yeah AMD is really good. But I discipline myself to use AMD for work (I do lots of photo and video editing) and intel for gaming. But honestly I enjoy gaming using my AMD build I don't know why.

I believe OP is on a bit of a tight budget. The 955 is faster but also twice as expensive. The 640 will do just fine as a gaming CPU for a budget build.
