Need for video card drivers?

I reformatted my PC a few months ago and installed windows 7. I realized a few days ago that I had never reinstalled video card drivers or the ATI dashboard. Despite this I have had no problems with games or videos. My question is this: If I am not having any problems without the dashboard and drivers, is there any reason to install them?

Video card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 512mb

W7 has a limited number of drivers in the install media and ATI is well supported.

If all is working ok, then you yes you don't need to install drivers, but you will be losing out in a lot of performance and visual improvements if you don't.
