Hey, all, your help is much appreciated. I'm going to make a significant investment and I'm no expert so I really appreciate your input. Here's what I'm thinking:
Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI or Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
3700+ San Diego
(1) Gigabyte 7800 GTX or Asus 7800 GTX
Corsair TWINX2048-3500LLPRO (1GBx2)
(2) Western Digital WD740GD (Raid-0)
Seasonic S12 600
I'm not initially going w/ two 7800 GTX's but once I pay this off I'll add the second. My question is mostly on the motherboards... I thought Asus was the best brand, I guess because they cost so much, but this past weekend my friend suggested Gigabyte as a more reliable alternative. What do you guys think? Is there a better motherboard/video card combination out there? Any suggestions on how to make the system better? Is there better system memory out there? My budget is $2,500. Right now i'm at $1,900. I don't need a monitor, speakers, sound card or rom drives so all $2,500 goes towards mobo, vid card, ram, & hard drives. I'm pretty stuck on the 3700+ San Diego per recommendation from wusy. Seems to be a good value, and once paid off I can replace w/ an FX when the prices drop. Your help is much appreciated especially on the mobo and ram as I'll be ordering this Friday and I'm still uncertain! Thanks!
