Hey

I have a Win98se system that kept getting Invalid System Disk so i put in a boot disk and did sys c: and now when it boots it just goes straight to a command prompt c:\> and if i hit F8 it gives me the menu than when i choose safe mode or normal mode it says "Windows is bypassing your startup files" Than goes back to command line C:\>. Any ideas on how to get it to boot normally again?

Thanks

Try installing 98SE over your old 98SE installation. That should replace the corrupted files without removing any installed software.

When you boot from the CD to do settup, you might be prompted to instal 98SE into another directory, like C:\Windows.000. At that prompt, change it back to C:\Windows and when you're prompted that it will overwrite some files, that's OK.
