Resetting Half Life 1 screen resolution

Hello,
I tried to set my screen resolution to higher than 680x480 and it was out of reach for the computer. So I couldn't see anything. I tried "-autoconfig" but that did absolutely nothing. I even reinstalled the game numerous times. Did Nothing. I could delete the regestry but i don't know what i'm looking for. I'm at wits end here. Any help would be most appreciated.

Configuration -> Video -> Video Modes -> list of resolutions?
should go up to 1280*960, should be able to tweak registry to get higher, not sure, Google it.
OpenGL driver goes to 1600*1200. You might need patch 1.1.1.0.

Other games allow >640*480?

never mind i got it. i was searching on the valve develpor community and i found the right command thanks for your help.
