Asus CUR-DLS not compatible with PIII 933Mhz

This is just to let everyone know and hopefully to get help from the experienced ones. I purchased the Asus CUR-DLS MB and two Boxed Retail Intel PIII, 933Mhz, Flipped Chip design. You have to manually mount the heat sink on top of the CPU once it's in the socket. THE PROBLEM: The Intel heat sink is too large and it is impossible for you to clamp the heat sink to the MB. Due to all the resitor packs on the Asus MB, this retail heat sink will not make contact with the CPU. I don't know if later revision of the Asus CUR-DLS will fix this.

This is why i like my Athlon's and ABIT motherboards. WE don't get tweekie problems like that.

The stock heat sink, of course does not work.
The ASUS board is out of spec for desktops,
its a Server board.

You might try looking for heat sinks for the compac D350? 1U.

Im looking for a heat sink too, and Ill let you know what I find!
