Is there any CRT's that arnt so large?

Im trying to get a new monitor but my computer desk isnt that large.... ive looked at LCD but an 18" runs about $1500 and thats too much (if someone knows where i can get a 18" LCD for under 1000 plz plz let me know) Im trying to find and 19"+ CRT that is only 40cm in depth so that it will fit my desk it can be wider or taller but i need it to be under 40cm in depth

Philips comes close but does not quite meet your spec.

109b20 - 448mm depth
109s20 - 440mm depth

Good luck with finding something better.

I looked at the Philips site but when i found their demensions it was still 46 in depth (although it apeared to be far less)

I'm sure the information I posted is correct.

Checked out a few other manufacturers, surprising how few give precise overall size specs.

Irritating, I'm sure your not the only one with specific requirements.

I looked through my monitor data base, the only thing that comes close is the Viewsonic GS790 at 412mm deep.

It may have been that i was look at a dif model so it was larger.... im think i may i have to get a bigger computer desk... eeep! they not cheep either but im not willing to go below 19"

Best I could do is ViewSonic "short neck" already mentioned. Dimensions (WxDxH) / Weight: 44.8 cm x 41.2 cm x 47 cm / 20 kg.

Does your desk have a back? Can't you pull the desk out from the wall an extra 1.2cm and let the monitor hang off the back? If it does have a back is this a job for a Sawsall, duct tape and vice grips? I bet if you have me over for coffee I could fix you up in no time with a chain saw and some super glue.

OK well to start off the back of my comp desk is cardboard with wood collered coating (ghetto!) i entend to cut some of it off anyways because my new cpus gona get hot and i want to make some space for the air to go, so i think ill end up doing that getting a CRT and cutting the back off my desk
