i have a fic va-503+ mobo thats about 3 years old. it currently has a p200mmx in it. the fsb has settings from 66/75/83/100/112/125 and supports pc100. when i tried my new k6-2+ 500 i cant get it to boot.

my problem lies with the bio's, i've got the updated bios on a floppy but when i reboot with it in the drive it doesn't update correctly. do i need to put any dos files on my disk to get it to update the bios? the correct flash utility is already present. what am i doing wrong? suggestions?

Most bios flash programs that make a disk, make the disk bootable.

you could try running the program from the HD in from the dos prompt, do F8 befor win boots.

Take Care.
If money was no object, how could you spend it!

Be sure that you have changed the boot sequence in the bios so it boots from the floppy disk first before the HD (ie: A, C)and make sure the floppy disk is formated with the /s command before you put the new bios file and flasher program on it
