Hello,
i have a new hard drive in my laptop and need to set up a partition, fo installing windows7.
What size shall it be??

If you don't need to separate any files or anything just format the entire drive rather than using partitions.

Minumum size for 64 bit W7 is 20 GB but you should allow a lot more depending on how many programs you are going to install, allow for updates swap file and restore points.
If using a 500 GB drive, if you must create more then one partition I would reserve at least 100 GB for the OS and programs. You will be surprised how quickly you find 50 GB used.
