Onboard audio for the A7V

If I decide not to take the optional audio, does that include both the codec and whatever else there was? Will the onboard audio cause performance drops? Is it possible to turn it off in the BIOS?

The onboard audio includes the audio chip and external connections. The w/o audio version of the A7V which I have lacks these. If you do get onboard audio, you can disable it in the BIOS.
The onboard audio probably won't cause performance drops but will be lower quality (you get what you pay for) than a dedicated sound card.
