Time to buy one since AT&T wants like $300 for the RCA their peddling.

On pricewatch the 3COM 3CR29210's are about $20 less expensive than the latest versions of the Motorola surfboards. My question is: is their a difference? If so what kind and how bad? Can't find any comparisons for some reason.

I talked to the guys at USR about this topic quite in depth and not all cable modems are equal. It is sad that we have no good way to test them, because the test equipment is so expensive. The guys from USR told me that their cable modem was the best (big surprise there!) and it is better than the Motorola Cyber Surfer that I had before. It does seem quite a but faster. I have also been told that the 3Com and the Toshiba are good as well, but not as fast.
