Hi folks

im looking to upgrade im wanting a mainboard to run a 667 celeron (cause i already bought it) and im thinking of a gigabyte GA-6VC7-4X any body with any thoughts...or maybe theres a better board out there.. Remember im in australia so the board you suggest must be available here.

I don't think there's any way for non-Aussies to know whether a certain board is available there. Agg at <A HREF="http://www.overclockers.com.au" target="_new">http://www.overclockers.com.au</A> has a good forum going that specifically covers this. I'm sure those guys would be glad to help. (I don't know the board you mention.)

Check into any of the newer I815 boards this way you get agp 4x support ata/100 and the option to upgrade to p3 if you want in the future. ASUS,ABIT, And MSI all make solid boards with the msi probably being your best per dollar value.

could u please explain the I815 thing you mentioned in your post as i cant find out about it anywhere

the i815 refers to the chipset on the motherboard it is fairly new and almost all motherboard makers have one out. For instance try the MSI-6337 is one of the many boards that use this chipset.
