In my ultimate Doom directory, I have one 11.8 MB WAD. What are PWADs and
IWADS? I don't have any of those.

TIA again.

IWADs are a complete collection of textures, sounds, sprites, etc for
playing the game.
Doom.wad, Doom2.wad, etc. are IWADs
PWADs are basically patch files and are used to replace things in the main
wad file.
Both types have the extension .WAD.
