Is ROE worth playing?

I enjoyed the original DOOM 1, 2, and 3 in their non-hell levels (not
crazy about those level themes and designs). Is ROE expansion worth
playing? How about its multiplayer? Anything new? The original game's
multiplayer was weak.

It's good, if not better than the original in parts.

Multiplayer now has CTF < http://ucguides.savagehelp.com/Doom3/maps.htm >
and seems a bit more responsive / less laggy.

Got it yesterday, the sound effects during the install were enough to send a
shiver of anticipation up my spine.
