I was trying to clone my old hard disk into my new, 120GB hard disk using Norton Ghost using its clone utility, but it messed up my windows xp! This is the error that was displayed upon restart:
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing
I tried to look for these options -- caching and shadowing, but I could not find them. I'm not very used to BIOS.
When you do a disk clone you must remove the orrigional disk after the clone completes. Did you do that? or did you let windows boot after the clone finished. If you let windows boot/try to boot after the clone it is most likely completely hosed
Do a reinstall of windows on your new hard drive. Start the windows installer, hit enter to install windows, and when it detects ur current install hit repair. It will just reinstall all the windows files and leave your data intact.
