Diablo 3 release date?

Please tell me that Diablo 3 will be released circa 2011. I've been waiting for this game ever since I started playing Diablo 2 Eight years ago! What on Earth is taking the developers so long?

Other games I am looking forward to are Deux Ex 3, Crysis 2, and Doom 4.

yup...MO with Blizzard is a game is done "when it's done".

Usually they won't release a launch date until a game is gold or now post-Activision buyout a month or two after gold to help feed the hype machine.

they announced the game in june 2008, probably Q2 2011...

Well at Blizzcon they said they are close to doing a closed Alpha test for Blizzard staff and family. After that they will be doing a Beta test. Work on 3 Month closed alpha and another 3 month Beta with a few months inbetween.

If they start the Alpha early 2011 we could see it later in the year. My guess is that we are looking 2012, early to mid.
