Hey,
So I have this problem with the scroll wheel on any mouse I plug into this computer. One day it was working, and suddenly it went really choppy and stopped working. I've tried different mice and it still didn't work. Uninstalled and reinstalled the mouse driver, no go. Installed Microsoft Intellipoint, no go. Plugged into USB and Serial port, no go.

I'm out of ideas, and could use a little help. Thanks.

There's a setting under "Control Panel --> Mouse --> Wheel" that controls how many lines the mouse moves for each "click". Is there any change it's been set to something strange?

Try changing your mouse settings in Windows 7, from it's default "Flip" to "Middle Click".

I hope this helps!

I pressed the scroll wheel until it clicked and then the wheel began working as expected. What feature is this?

Its dust in the sensor feature, you might have dislodged it by clicking.
