Controller wont turn on without plugnplay

Hello,
i have a wireless 360 controller i spilled beer on, the controller works, but only with a plugnplay kit, i have tried different batteries (charge kit and throwaways) but i cant get it to work without the charge cable

When you spilled the beer on it, you might have corroded or damaged the contacts or Board section where the controller gets its battery power from. Since the plugnplay cable provides power through the top port it bypasses these contacts. Im not sure if it is fixable other than cleaning the battery contacts of all Beer residue or checking for corrosion.

i had an issue like this and my friend who mods and repairs controllers said there is really nothing that can be done short of re-soldering the myriad of connections that were potentially damaged.
