Radeon 6870 + AMD Phenom II Problems??

I built a computer with a Radeon 6870, Phenom II 955, 4GB DDR3 1333, and MSI-870S-G54 and my FPS will go below 15 on tf2 when there are more than 5-7 players close to me, so it happens a couple times every minute. I've read about people getting no less than 50fps on tf2 with a AMD 955 and a Radeon 5770! Whats the problem??

Maybe one or more components are overheated.

Try open the casing while playing the game.
