How do you do it? I notice my last version (1004d) was an .awd file, but the 1005a file is a .bin file. Do i need a different version of aflash?
Also, how can you tell what version of teh 4-in-1 drivers you have? I just updated to 4.25a last night and cant tell if it worked or not, it seems like everything went right, but im not sure. Thanks

Also, does anyone know the actual clock max that the A7V can handle? Every i see reads "~1Ghz", but I know it can handle the 1.2Ghz Tbird, so will it be able to handle higher clock speeds?

Follow the manual to get aflash on disk. Backup a copy of your existzing bios, and put a copy of 1005a on the disk too. Run aflash again, flash new bios and enter the file when prompted just how you saved it on the disk...probably 1005a.bin.
Keep following the instructions, and then set up your bios. I did the via stuff too...if you arent getting any problems in the system info, then you should be fine. You could also upgrade to the promise build 33 drivers, maybe one day you will need to use them...startup is faster with them if you have ata100. BTW I clocked my 800 to 1000 and am having no probs whatsoever, since the bios upgrade. I also read somewhere that you should set the reserve DMA buffer to 64KB. I did it, but I'm not sure what it does...

PEACE.

For the bios, you can just rename the extension of the .bin file to .awd and it will work fine.

The A7V is made to go to 1.2Ghz (or More) , whatever that means.

As for your VIA driver question, if you look at the release notes that came with it you can get the version numbers for each separate driver and try to match them up with version numbers from the control panel/system/device manager menu. I just updated my via drivers also and couldn't, for the life of me, figure out whether or not it worked. You got me stumped on that one.
