I have downloaded a doom III demo from this site:

http://www.digital-daily.com/video/doom3-benchmark

The problem is that the file is not a .exe file, but a .demo file. I tried to rename the file to .exe and .demo.exe, but windows said, that the file isnt a win32 application. I tried both files (demo002.demo and demo 006.demo) and also to download it again (to see if the file got corrupted during download). I ALSO TRIED TO START IT IN COMMAND.COM, but it reported that I dont have enough RAM to load this program. Has anyone a suggestion how I can start the demo.

I think you have to UNZIP it using WinRAR.

I have unzipped the file w/ winrar. I have downloaded it as .rar file. You cannot unzip the .demo file. I also posted in a different forum and got the answer that I have to install doom 3 or at least the alpha to use this file.
