Hi,

Running Windows XP,Norton 2005, NTL Broadband and 2 kids (13) (9).....put all these together and you get adult popups!!!
I am aware of the control you have in Windows itself although by pushing this up to maximum level you cant even search the web then.....Could someone please tell me the best way to keep those adult suckers 'popups' out of my system / any other systems for good. Almost stating taht any time a site with over 18 material want to appear it gets banned.....o'yeah, tried spy sweeper as well but as you can imagine its not always posible for a 9 year old to know if he should 'accept' or 'remove' a file.....

The easiest and possibly best thing to do would be to get a little home router with keyword filtering. The old netgear I had a while ago had it so I'm sure most of them nowdays have it. You can just sit there thinking up all sorts of lovely words to add to its list, it will scan every page coming in to see if it contains that word, and if it does it will be blocked.

This won't solve all your problems but I recommend
1) using Firefox or Mozilla
2) running adaware and spybot to remove pests especially after installing software
3) turn on automatic updates, patch those security holes as soon as possible!

With Mozilla 1.7.5 I am getting ZERO unwanted popups and ZERO spyware installed via my web browser. Firefox is an even better browser.

I occasionally find a rare site that only works with Internet Explorer. But having ZERO popups and ZERO spyware on my system is worth switching browsers once a month.
