Civilization V crashes/freezes

Hi there

So far, I've played five games (Civilization V)- and every time the map grew big enough (XL map, 7-8 races) the game would crash after 350 turns or so. IE, I can never get pass owning half of the map. The game eventually either freezes on the same turn, or crashes to desktop.

My machine:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3
MB: GIGABYTE GA-890XA-UD3 AM3 AMD 790X
GPU: HIS H585FN1GD Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
HD (System): Corsair Force CSSD-F60GB2-BRKT 2.5" 60GB SATA II MLC
HD (apps): SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"
PSU: XFX Black Edition P1-750B-CAG9 750W ATX12V v2.2

Re-installing the game did not solve the issue.

Any thoughts?

Yes, Civ 5 is the only one crashing. The game is nearly always freezes in the middle of the [oponents'] turn, but it crashed several times to the desktop without an error message- just says that it "has stopped working"

There is a new patch for the game. You should also update your driver for you video card again.

I bet this will fix issue


I bet recycling what other pepole have said, that wont actually fix hes problem wont help alot.
