I built a brand new gaming rig with Windows 7 home premium 64-bit, and I noticed that the game STALKER Clear Sky won't work on windows 7. I get an error message saying something like "you have to be an administrator when booting up this program for the first time" I go into privileges and click "run as administrator" and it still doesn't work.

I've also tried running it in virtual computer compatibility mode for Windows Vista, but no luck.

I'm also having trouble finding the latest patch for the English version of Clear Sky AND Call of Pripyat. Could you please help me out? The only versions I've found are for the German and Russian version.

Try re-installing, but this time run the installation file as an administrator.

Open up the file on your disc (Stalker Clearsky; do not autorun it) and right click Setup, choose troubleshoot compatibility and set it to xp2 or xp3 and it will install correctly.

Had the same problem. It's not a compatibility problem.

The problem is that windows 7 64 blocks the DRM.

Go to http://www.tagesprotection.com and to the 'drivers' page and DL the 64 bit exe file. Install it, and you should be good to go.

I downloaded and installed the latest patch. Then I booted STALKER CS right up and played through the whole game with no problems.
