Old games on new computer?

I have a newly built windows 7 gaming rig and I want to play games like Doom 3 and Half Life 2, Battlefield 2, etc.... but it keeps saying that the game isn't compatible with this version of windows.

What do I do if I want to play them? (if I can at all)

Exact error message? I did a quick Google search and it seems quite a number of people have managed to get these games working in Windows 7. Are they patched to the latest version?

Those game will run on Win 7 try compatibility set to winxp2.
