Opinion for MB selection

Pent III - 1 gig CPU and what MB would be the best combination?
I am tired of trying to make a A7V and a AMD1.1 work so I am going back to what's never failed me
Yes, a new MB and the AMD would probably fix my problem but I might as well just dump both since I have replaced the CPU and then the MB on this system and the problems persist
The kernal is just getting 'kicked' or tricked into the CPU hitting hight usage rates, 70% and higher and it never comes down except for a reboot

So I quit!
Any advice would be welcome
I had great success with my Pent II and a ABIT MB for 2 years
So I have no problems with ABIT but would like other opinions and of which ABIT 'if' that's a good choice still
Thanks for any advice and tips!

Thanks!
I have the asus A7V but something is not right with it and the 1.1 gig AMD....I have tried replacing it all but it's still showing weird kernal problems and no one has yet shown me what 'setting' or 'patch' will fix it!
They say it must be a conflict tween to two
If you didn't know what to look for or pay attention, most buyers would not see it
But, I see it :)
Pretty obvious if ya just look

Thanks for the tips or the Pent III

Yeah, it seems that this is just about the only Pentium board talked about lately (I don't have one). If you're interested in it, Tiger, there's a site called http://www.cusl2.com.

Also an interesting link at http://www.cusl2.com/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.cgi?action=Read&BID=1&TID=9026&SID=156636.

And finally, there's a "cusl2" topic in the forums at http://www.overclockers.com.au.

Thanks!
I am tempted to give it one more AMD try!
I could go with the Abit K7 RAID as it's got a lot of great feedback and it has a lot of similar features as the asus.
I am worried and 'told' that it's the ASUS A7V that's probably causing my 'quirk' with the Kernal usage.
It's a windows induced deal but my other PC does not do this and neither should a brand new one!
I just have to waste MORE time! The cost for a Pent is so much more ya know!
I could go to a 933 slot 1 Pent III for still a little more than a 1.1 Thumnderbird but I really would rather get this one working RIGHT!
It's not real bad but there is some quirk with the Kernal when I close apps down or just leave the system idle ( no screen saver junk or anything to trigger it ).

I am calling AMD tomorrow, will question them on it and go from there!
I just do not see why this can't work perfect
I know Windows is gonna crash, resouces are going to suck but the kernal does not need to spike and stay spiked for no reason and that's my problem
Thanks
I shall check that site and MB!
