Odd lag on LOTRO

Hi forum, I'm posting this because I'm a little concerned about the lag I'm getting on the Lord of the Rings Online. Basically I just got the game but I am experiencing a lot of lag when I either progress into the next area of the game, or when I turn to look at something else. I get this issue no matter what graphic setting I play on which is why I am a little confused.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Processor: Phenom X4 9500 @ 2.42 GHz
RAM: 4GB of Corsair XMS2 DDR2 @ 400MHz for some reason (I'll bios at some point and change this)
Mobo (ASUS M3N-HT Deluxe/HDMI)
Graphics: XFX GTX 295

It's really kind of confusing as some of my friends don't get this type of lag and they are playing on laptops and 5+ year old rigs...

listen out \ look out for signs of spikes of disk activity associated with that lag, just a thought, your GPU should be far more than adequate, I can get lag free gaming in lotro with a 7600gt
