Ok.. Upgraded my abit bf6 mobo to the latest bios and it worked fine.. this allowed me to buy a new cpu which i did..
p3-800mhz (133mhz)

So.. plunked it in and booted up.. well.. bios thought it was a p3-400(66) which isn't right.. so i change it..

everything went fine till it gets to the point where it shows all my pci stuff and ram and all that.. and theres an error message.. "WARNING : SPD not found at DIMM(s) 3" blinking in white..

winME boots up fine.. but.. as soon as i fire up explorer things start going wrong.. all sorts of crash errors.. windows is down for the count.. so.. change it back to 400(66) and it works fine

whats goin on? did i get a bunk cpu? motherboard not so good as it was supposed to be? any ideas?

btw i'm using a s370 to slot-1 converter.. wonder if thats the problem..

Thanks
