id has their own bittorrent tracker, the link is on iddevnet:

http://www.iddevnet.com/doom3/

The new netcode is much improved, or as far as I can tell it is.

A cool new feature is the lag graph, similar to Q3

Punkbuster support is now included in D3.

Screw it, read the readme for yourself.

Only pedantic people use the word pedantic, and only a truly pedantic
person would use the term pedantic four times in a statement.

Take out the _CURSEING to reply to me

Commercial patch v1.2 was D3 extension: Resurrection of Evil. ;-) Thats
the reason for version number 1.3.

You really think so? Let me get this straight... You think it's
perfectly acceptable for someone to post the question "What is
Punkbuster?", and then NINE MINUTES later post saying "Nevermind, I found
it"?. Is that what you're saying? You don't think he should have done a
little looking around first? Come on.

dan,

now that you "attacked" me three or four times in your replies and you
seem to know it all, i'll play really dumb and forget that i went and
found what punkbuster is/was.

why dont you explain to me in your own words what pucnkbuster is and
answer my original post and leave the personal stuff out of it.

if you not going to answer the question, dont bother replying.

(nice fight you have there)

Yup, but I waste 2 hour of my time to set this Punkbuster up.
Informations how to set it up was very poor, like iD games history all
the time. Now I am talking dedicated servers setup. It was very hard to
set up Doom III running with .bat and server config file. Now this
Punkbuster.

Now I know and can tell Punkbuster is not on/enabled on default. It is
off. Now I can tell there are any .cfg file to edit with Notepad. There
is only \PB folder on your \Doom 3 folder.

First you have to enable Punkbuster. Easiest way to check up if
Punkbuster is on/running you type 'pb_sv_ver' command in server console
(remote control to your server screen: vpn or Microsoft own remote
software) or take remote control to your server (rcon password), and
this tell what version your Punkbuster is. If console tell unknown
command it means Punkbuster is not running.

Type 'pb_sv_enable' to turn it running. Type 'pb_sv-writecfg' to write
..cfg file. Then go to Punkbuster home page and start learning how to set
up those mystical lines. In remote support you have to tell http port
where you come and remote control Punkbuster WebTool. On help they say
ex. 8000. But they didn't tell that when logging in you may not press
enter when entering your remote passward. You had to let password in its
place and press then the button whats action you wanna use.

O'boy this all was so "left handed". How I said - I waste 2 hours for
this!

But more is coming. I do not know how to update Punkbuster
automatically. My pbweb.exe do not connect to server. It write only 404
error (server not found). Maybe it is that 'pb_homepath' do not show
nothing information on console?

Why not? That's what usenet is for, exchanging information. Because it insulted
your simple mind doesn't make it a bad question.

If I had a simple mind, it wouldn't have insulted me, would it? I
wouldn't have known enough to be insulted (if I had a simple mind).

You're as ignorant as the OP if you don't see the point. Run along, boy.

Are you saying I'm wrong? Do you think he should have looked around a
little first before posting such an idiotic question?

How does that make it different from most of the other Windoze software
you're running?

It's *designed* to snoop. Maybe they went overkill as to what is
snooping, but honestly, do you think you maintain anonymity online?

It sounds like you have more of a problem with the idea of PB than with
the software itself.

I'm saying it was not so big a deal as to make a big fuss over.
