Hi,

I've a problem with my HP Laserjet 6L. It always feeds multiple papers at
once instead of one.

I've read about a fix tool by HP for free. But I cannot find it on the HP
Website.
Does anyone have the corrrect link for me?

Thanks

Hi Micha

I am assuming that by multi feeding you are referring to 2 or more pages being
fed overlapped.
If so it is a mechanical problem due to wear, I have fixed lots of 6L's and
multiple feeding has always been corrected by replacing the following -
1. Seperator pad kit part number RY7-5077-000CN
2. Pickup roller (part of the Pick up roller assembly) the part number varies
with the model, go to http://partsurfer.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/main for info.
I usually replace the pickup ROLLER only but you will have to find a supplier
who stocks this as HP recommends replacing the whole assembly, much cheaper to
replace the roller but beware that it can be installed 180 degrees out of
phase! If you are not comfortable with mechanical dissasembly etcetera then I
suggest you ask a local repairer to do the work since it is a little tricky
unless you are very careful, the removal of the covers requires great care. A
good repairer will charge about 30 minutes labour and less than US$40.00 in
parts.
Good luck

Tony
